The 49th rotation of the IAEA permanent monitoring mission took place at the Rivne NPP.

A new group of observers from Nigeria, Armenia, Poland, and Namibia began their work at the RNPP site. They replaced the previous team from Japan, Bulgaria, and Finland, who finished their three-week mission.

During the introductory meeting with plant management and State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine representatives, the international experts learned about the Rivne NPP power units' operations. They discussed nuclear and radiation safety during martial law and accepted findings from the previous team.

Over the next three weeks, the IAEA team will continue to monitor compliance with international standards in the field of nuclear and radiation safety, observe the implementation of the seven indispensable pillars of nuclear safety and security, and assess the state of infrastructure at the Rivne NPP site.

The permanent presence of IAEA representatives at Ukrainian nuclear power plants remains a crucial component of international control and a guarantee of transparency in the activities of these facilities. It confirms the high level of safety in the operation of power units and the Ukrainian side's openness to cooperation with the international community.
