Pavlo Kovtonyuk

Acting Chief Executive Officer of Joint Stock Company “National Nuclear Energy Generating Company “Energoatom”

Pavlo Kovtonyuk entered his career in the nuclear power industry in 1976 as an electrical fitter. Since 1977, he has closely tied his professional life to the Rivne NPP, advancing through the ranks from electrical engineer to Director General of the plant. During this time, he held several key positions, including shift supervisor at the plant and head of specialized departments for equipment commissioning and testing. He then served as Deputy Chief Engineer, Chief Engineer—First Deputy Director General, and later, Director General of the plant. In August 2025, he was appointed Acting CEO of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom.” He has nearly 50 years of experience in the energy sector. He has been awarded state and industry honors, including the honorary title of “Honored Energy Worker of Ukraine,” the badges “Honored Worker of the Nuclear Power Industry,” “Merited Worker of the Nuclear Power Industry,” “Distinguished Worker of the Nuclear Power Industry,” and “Distinguished Worker of the Power Industry of Ukraine,” as well as numerous certificates of honor and other awards.
