As a long-standing strategic partner of Ukraine, Westinghouse confirmed its readiness to contribute to the country's future recovery by participating in the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) held in Rome in July 2025.
Westinghouse demonstrated its support for Ukraine's nuclear energy sector in various areas, including the construction of new power units, assistance with nuclear fuel, etc.
During the conference, an agreement was signed to establish a production line for the manufacture of VVER-1000 fuel assemblies at the Energoatom branch site. This is a significant step towards strengthening Ukraine's energy security and independence.
As a reminder, Energoatom and Westinghouse have agreed to build nine AP1000 power units in Ukraine.
The AP1000 is a proven Gen III+ advanced reactor featuring unique fully passive safety systems, modularized standard design, and industry-leading operability performance and load-following capability.
