On September 25, the final stage of the 17th scientific report competition among young employees of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” took place. Specialists under the age of 35 from the Head Office and branches of the company participated in the event.
Bohdan Shmyhelskyi, Executive Director for Human Resources at JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom”, congratulated the finalists and emphasized: “This competition helps us develop both the company's production potential and your personal qualities and leadership skills. We see how the ideas from your work are being implemented in production. At the same time, statistics from universities confirm that for three consecutive years, more and more applicants have been choosing our industry-specific majors. Energoatom's main strength is its people. It is you who are shaping the future of Ukraine's nuclear energy industry. I wish you confident performances, new achievements, and career growth.”
The competition covered two areas: production and social issues. As usual, there were more participants in the production category, but the social issues category also gained particular relevance, with several topics inspired by the war.
In the first part of the competition, dedicated to production issues, the winners were:
First place – Maryna Palamarchuk, Engineer II category of the Radiation Material Science Department of the Technical Support Service for Life Extension (Scientific and Technical Center), with a report on “Features of the justification of safe operation of reactor internals.”
Second place was shared by Yana Havrylets, Maintenance Engineer of the Technical preparation, reconstruction, and extension of the service life of the Thermal Instrumentation and Control Shop (branch “SS ZNPP”), with a report on “Improving the reliability of online monitoring of pressure sensors in accordance with the methodology of SOU NNEGC 234:2021,” and Stepan Hreben, Senior Operator of the Reactor Department of Reactor Shop-1 (branch “SS RNPP”) with the report “Corporate Brain of RNPP: architecture of the system of instant access to technical knowledge.”
In the social category, the places were distributed as follows:
First place – Maria Okhrimchuk, Sociologist II category of the Personnel Development Department (branch “SS RNPP”) with the topic “The importance of the socio-psychological climate in the structure of corporate safety culture.”
Second place – Oleksiy Honcharenko, Psychologist II category of the Scientific and Technical Center (branch “SS SUNPP”), with the topic “Supporting the mental health of NPP employees and creating a safe working environment by managers. The REACT methodology.”
Third place went to Mykhailo Mykhalets, a power plant equipment maintenance mechanic in the heat and water supply and sewerage section of the Hydraulic Engineering Workshop (branch “SS KhNPP”) with the topic “Prevention of professional burnout among KhNPP employees.”
The winners and runners-up received cash prizes from JSC “NNEGC ”Energoatom" and certificates for training from the International Institute of Management.
