Lessons learned from the past and energy of the future: NNEGC specialists gave a lecture to the pupil of a Liceum about nuclear industry on the occasion of the International Chornobyl Disaster Remembrance Day

On April 24, at Kyiv Biotechnological Lyceum No. 177, representatives of Energoatom presented an educational lecture for pupils of the grades 7-11.

On the eve of the International Chornobyl Disaster Remembrance Day, schoolchildren learned about the causes of the accident, the conclusions drawn after the tragedy, as well as myths undermining trust in peaceful atoms.

The pupils were told about the continuous modernization of safety systems, the development of new technologies, and the implementation of modern approaches at nuclear power plants, ensuring reliable operation and stable production of electricity and heat.

The Liceum pupils also got acquainted with the models of fuel assembly elements, learned the principle of operation of the dosimeters work, as well as visited domestic nuclear power plants using VR glasses, which allowed children to better understand the principle of their operation.

Energoatom specialists told the boys and girls about the role of NNEGC in the energy sector and the economy of our country, the advantages of the nuclear employee profession, job prospects in the industry, as well as the Company’s ambitious projects.

The purpose of such events is to open up the world of nuclear energy to young people, explain its importance and necessity, and encourage teenagers to broaden their world view and learn more about the importance of energy sector for the future of Ukraine.
