JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” has completed its annual post-certification audit of its integrated management system, which lasted from early September to late October. The audit confirmed that the company's integrated management system complies with international standards, specifically: ISO 9001 (which specifies requirements for quality management), ISO 14001 (which outlines criteria for environmental management), and ISO 45001 (which sets standards for occupational health and safety management).
For two months, representatives of the certification body, IMS INTERNATIONAL, analyzed documentation, visited production sites, and communicated with staff. The auditors focused on risk management, planning, performance, and improvement of the company's activities in a dynamic environment.
During the audit, the specialists covered a number of areas:
• electricity and heat production;
• repair, installation, and reconstruction works;
• operation of the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility;
• scientific and technical support;
• resource provision and management;
• transportation of radioactive materials and others that fall within the scope of certification of the integrated management system of JSC “NNEGC ”Energoatom.”
At the audit exit meeting held on October 31, the head of the certification body, Serhii Davydenko, and the audit team noted the high competence of the company's personnel, the safe operation of the technological complex under martial law, compliance with nuclear and radiation safety standards and regulations, as well as the employees' awareness of international management system standards.
“I would like to thank all the employees we spoke with: the staff is knowledgeable, conscientiously performs their duties, is familiar with the documents, knows the company's policy, and understands the possible risks associated with the processes. Of course, there are certain recommendations and areas for improvement, which we communicated to management during the audit and will reflect in the report. After all, we work to improve your system,” said Chief Auditor Tetiana Hankevych.
“Such external audits not only allow us to verify the compliance of our activities with international standards, but are also an effective means of exchanging experience between Energoatom's affiliates and specialized directorates, as well as a tool for improving management system processes and interaction between executives within this system,” said Ihor Polovych, Director for Quality and Management.
