On September 11, at the office of NNEGC “Energoatom”, a roundtable was held with the participation of representatives of the nuclear industry of Ukraine and the association of industrial companies from one of the regions. The heads of NNEGC, UkrNS, UNF, as well as specialists of industrial companies discussed the current needs of the nuclear sector and potential solutions to meet the necessary requests.
Head of the local regional military administration joined the meeting in online format. The participants also included Head of the Subcommittee on Nuclear Energy and Nuclear Safety of the Verkhovna Rada Committee of Energy and Housing, Anatolii Kostiukh, and Acting Director of Department of Nuclear Energy and Nuclear Industry of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Ihor Ivanov.
The meeting became a logical continuation of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Energoatom and Regional Military Administration, signed in March of this year. That time, the parties gathered in an expanded format to develop a roadmap for joint actions aimed at developing promising projects in the field of nuclear energy.
“We are creating a platform that unites science, industry and production. We are facing unprecedented challenges the world has never seen before – the full-scale war. Nevertheless, for the fourth year now, we have been proving that we are able to cope with them. Now it is time to join efforts to strengthen our achievements,” said Oleksandr Ostapovets, Inspector General, Director for Safety, Acting Member of the Board of Energoatom and President of the Ukrainian Nuclear Forum Association.
Within the framework of the event, NNEGC specialists shared information about the Company’s key promising projects, the features of conducting repair campaigns under martial law, and spoke about the principles of the procurement system.
UNF management presented the strategic goals, objectives and prospects of the Association, and representatives of the UkrNS introduced the participants into National Platform for Nuclear Energy Development – “Energy of the Future”.
