On April 28, 2026, following a scheduled outage, Energoatom specialists successfully synchronized a Khmelnytskyi NPP power unit with grid. Power ascension is currently underway. This marks the completion of the first repair within the 2026 maintenance campaign.

“We are operating under an annual maintenance schedule coordinated with the Ministry and Ukrenergo, and we adhere to it. Throughout this campaign, we are conducting scheduled maintenance across all NPPs, including equipment inspections, replacement of components that have reached the end of their service life, and refueling,” stated Pavlo Kovtonyuk, head of Energoatom.

Nuclear energy workers completed the repairs four days ahead of schedule. This accelerated timeline will result in additional 70 million kWh of electricity generation. ️

“The maintenance campaign commenced in April and is slated to run until October. Our activities are strategically phased to mitigate any strategic deficit in the power grid. The primary objective is to enter the autumn and winter period with all nine units located in the territory controlled by Ukraine fully operational,” the head of Energoatom added.
