On 13 July, Energoatom acting CEO Pavlo Kovtonyuk visited Rivne Nuclear Power Plant to inspect the construction of protective structures designed to safeguard critical equipment from enemy attacks.
"Enhancing the protection of our nuclear facilities remains one of Energoatom's highest priorities during wartime. Construction is progressing on schedule, and we are doing our best to strengthen the resilience of critical infrastructure against potential attacks," Pavlo Kovtonyuk said.
During the visit, the Energoatom chief also chaired a plant management meeting to review the progress of the scheduled maintenance program at Rivne NPP. The Plant management assessed the status of maintenance activities and agreed on the key priorities for the weeks ahead.
Kovtonyuk stressed that completing all scheduled maintenance on time and to the highest quality standards is critical to ensuring the reliable operation of Ukraine's nuclear fleet during the forthcoming fall and winter period. All planned maintenance work is scheduled to be completed before the start of the heating season.
The visit also included a review of ongoing initiatives to improve accessibility across the Rivne NPP site in line with Energoatom's commitment to creating a barrier-free working environment.
At the conclusion of the visit, Pavlo Kovtonyuk presented corporate awards to Rivne NPP employees in recognition of their professionalism, dedication and significant contribution to the plant's safe and reliable operation.
