Alona Zavorotnia, software engineer of Instrumentation & Control Department of the South Ukraine NPP, became a member of the delegation of Ukrainian women specialists who represented Ukraine at the 32nd Women in Nuclear Global Annual Conference. This large-scale international event brought together leading nuclear industry experts from around the world in London.
The conference program covered a number of key topics relevant to the strategic energy sector at the global level. The focus was on industry innovations, introduction of digital technologies, involvement of young people in the nuclear professional environment, as well as issues of gender balance, inclusion and informing society about the role of nuclear energy in achieving sustainable development goals.
“Such an international platform is not only an exchange of knowledge and support for female leadership, but also an opportunity to make a statement about Ukraine and prove that even in wartime conditions we maintain professionalism, temper and readiness for improvements and development,” said Alona Zavorotnia, software engineer of Instrumentation & Control Department.
She also emphasized that the conference subject allowed participants to get acquainted with new approaches to the development of nuclear industry, discuss up-to-date process solutions and present Ukrainian experience of working in full-scale war conditions. Such meetings contribute to professional growth, open up opportunities for cooperation, support an important international dialogue in the nuclear field and strengthen the implementation of the gender policy of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” as a component of contemporary corporate culture.
