On February 26, the newly formed Supervisory Board of Energoatom held its first meeting. Board members elected their leadership and outlined the next steps in their work.
Rumina Velshi was elected as Chair of the Supervisory Board, with Patrick Fragman appointed as Vice Chair.
The Board also approved its specialized committees. In addition to the incumbent Committee on Audit and the Nomination and Remuneration Committees, two more new committees were established: the Safety, Environment and Quality Assurance Committee, and the Strategy and Financial Planning Committee as well. All these managerial branches strengthen the Board’s institutional capacity and enhance its greater operational consistency.
Nuclear and radiation safety remains the company’s unconditional top priority. The Supervisory Board reiterated its full support for staff ensuring the safe operation of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants.
During the meeting, the Board launched a review of the company’s past performance and outlined strategic priorities for its future development. In its work, the Supervisory Board will follow the OECD Guidelines, implementing best international practices in corporate governance.
The Supervisory Board performs a key oversight function within the corporate governance system, ensuring a balance between effective decision-making process and adherence to the principles of integrity and transparency.
