The 40th rotation of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has started work at the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant within the framework of the mission to monitor nuclear safety at Ukrainian nuclear power plants. The new team will work at the site over the next three weeks.
During a joint meeting, specialists of the branch “SS SUNPP” and IAEA representatives summed up the activities of the previous group and outlined plans for the future.
“We are sincerely grateful to the international experts for their fruitful cooperation, objective analysis and constant support. The South Ukraine NPP continues to operate consistently in accordance with all safety requirements, fulfilling the tasks set for generating electricity for our country,” said Andrii Fomytskyi, Chief Engineer of the branch “SS SUNPP”, expressing gratitude to the experts for their effective cooperation.
Among the newly arrived team members, an expert is working at the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant for the second time.
“I appreciate your invitation and the opportunity for me to be here with you at this difficult time period for Ukraine. It is a great honor to once again cooperate with a team of professionals and join the common cause of energy security," the representative of the 40th IAEA mission emphasized.
The priority aspects for international experts and specialists of the RNPP remains objective monitoring, exchange of experience and ensuring stable and safe operation of the nuclear facility under martial law.
