Students and lecturers of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” visited the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant. The tour of the nuclear facility became another joint event within the strategic partnership between Energoatom and the leading technical university, aimed at promoting nuclear energy and training future specialist for the industry.
During the tour, the young participants explored the KhNPP Training Centre and had a unique opportunity to observe personnel working on a full-scope simulator of the main control room. They were also shown the specifics of reactor monitoring and the algorithms followed by operating personnel during routing situations and emergencies.
“Youth work is one of Energoatom’s key areas of activity, while forming a modern, competent, and responsible workforce is a prerequisite for success. The company plans to build new modern power units, which will require brave and progressive engineers ready to deal with the technologies of the future today,” Pavlo Kovtonyuk emphasized.
Energoatom provides students with opportunities to unlock potential at its own production facilities. Every year, students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute undergo industrial and pre-graduation internships at the sites of the company’s separate subdivisions. In particular, over the course of the year, eight industrial and 48 pre-graduation internships were carried out, while 18 graduates of the capital’s higher education institution obtained jobs at NNEGC affiliates.
Another 28 students of Polytechnic, who are studying successfully and have concluded trilateral training agreements with the company, receive personal scholarships from JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom.”
The partnership between Energoatom and NTUU “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” is a joint contribution to the training of young, successful, and in-demand specialists.
