Nuclear power generation security has been strengthened with the completion of a pivotal safety facility at Rivne NPP. Company head Pavlo Kovtonyuk examined the project during a working visit, and the facility is currently undergoing certification.

Construction was part of a comprehensive safety upgrade program for Ukrainian power units under martial law, aimed at protecting critical nuclear infrastructure from potential external threats.

“The construction of this structure is an important step in ensuring the stable operation of Rivne NPP. We are taking proactive measures by creating a reliable shield for our critical infrastructure. Each such facility represents an additional layer of security for Ukraine’s entire power grid and is a result of our responsibility to the state,” emphasized Pavlo Kovtonyuk.

Furthermore, a production meeting was held at the Rivne NPP site, attended by plant management, relevant departments, and contractor organizations. Participants discussed the progress of construction on other protective structures and the implementation of new engineering solutions to enhance infrastructure resilience.

Following the visit, nuclear power plant employees and representatives of contractor organizations who demonstrated high professionalism and efficiency during the construction of protective structures were awarded honorary distinctions.
