On October 23, JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” held a ceremony to mark the Company’s 30th anniversary. During the event, the Company’s management congratulated the team on this milestone and recognized employees for their professionalism, many years of dedicated service, and significant contributions to the development of Ukraine’s nuclear energy sector and the country’s energy security.

Rumina Velshi, Chair of Energoatom’s Supervisory Board, addressed the nuclear professionals with a congratulatory speech. She expressed gratitude to the employees across all Company divisions for their daily work to ensure nuclear and radiation safety, as well as for their resilience and dedication to their profession amid the full-scale war.

“Thank you to every Energoatom employee – at our plants, across the Company, and in the roles that are rarely seen but always essential. And a very special thank you for what you have done during these extraordinarily difficult years. Through war, missile and drone attacks, and enormous personal uncertainty, you have kept electricity flowing to millions of Ukrainians and protected nuclear and radiation safety,” Rumina Velshi said.

Oleksandr Ostapovets, Acting CEO of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom”, emphasized that the Company’s three decades of operation reflect the professionalism and responsibility of its workforce, which provides Ukrainians with electricity every day and helps maintain the stability of the power system.

“Over the past 30 years, our nuclear power plants have generated 2,369 TW·h of electricity – enough to supply the entire country with uninterrupted power for almost 16 years. This figure could have been even higher had it not been for russia’s military aggression. Despite the temporary occupation of Zaporizhzhia NPP, Energoatom has allocated more than UAH 720 billion to ensuring affordable electricity prices for households. I thank every Energoatom nuclear professional for their reliable, accident-free work in service of our country,” Oleksandr Ostapovets stated.

Energoatom also remains one of the country’s key economic pillars and continues to support Ukraine’s Defense Forces. From 2016 through 2026, the Company paid UAH 237 billion in taxes, fees, and social contributions. Over more than four years of the full-scale invasion, more than UAH 24.5 billion has been allocated to support the Ukrainian military.

To mark Energoatom’s 30th anniversary, Company employees were honored for their professionalism, many years of dedicated service, and significant contributions to the development of Ukraine’s nuclear energy sector. The awards recognized specialists who ensure the Company’s steady operations, carry out important operational tasks, and contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s energy security.
