Energoatom’s trade union organization, together with the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (UkrNS), handed over 200 comfortable chairs for the shelter of Ivankiv Lyceum No. 2.

During the visit of Trade Union Head Sehii Snitkov, Director for Energoatom Human Resources Management Vladyslav Yanishevskyi, as well as UkrNS First Vice President, Executive Secretary, and Head of the Office of CEO of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” Danylo Lavrenov, an air raid alert sounded at the lyceum, so the schoolchildren received their guests in the shelter.

“For Energoatom, it is important that during shelling children remain not only safe, but also comfortable. We responded without any hesitation to the lyceum’s request and, together with UkrNS, purchased 200 comfortable chairs. In the off-season, it is important for children to sit on something soft and warm to avoid hypothermia,” Serhii Snitkov said.

According to Hanna Hubysh, Lyceum Director, this shelter is the largest in Ivankiv and therefore accommodates pupils from other educational institutions. As the enemy has recently become more aggressive, children spend up to six hours in the shelter and study there as well.

“We are very grateful for the assistance, because previously we had nothing. Then wooden benches appeared, and now schoolchildren can sit comfortably and stay warm. When the pupils saw the chairs, they became very happy,” Hanna Hubysh said.

For Energoatom, supporting children and young people has always been one of its priorities; this is not the company’s first cooperation with Ivankiv Lyceum No. 2. Earlier, NNEGC “Energoatom” provided one of its classrooms with equipment and didactic materials.
