Successful cooperation between Energoatom and IAEA on inspection of Ukrainian NPPs underway
16 to 21 May 2021, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors are holding a regular scheduled inspection of Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant unit 3 being under interim scheduled repair.
During the mission, the Agency's inspectors will verify the actual available amount of nuclear materials, install a seal on the «cooling pond – wet refuelling pond» transport hole, conduct maintenance of the IAEA surveillance system control units as well as check accounting, operating and reporting documents for nuclear materials.
The inspection aimed at verification of unreported nuclear material absence is undergoing in the framework of the Agreement between Ukraine and the IAEA in pursuance of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
