Owing to amendments effected by the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ukraine, SE NNEGC “Energoatom” sold 332 928 MWh of baseload to be supplied in the period May 8-31, 2020, as the results of the electronic auction held on May4, 2020 on the Commodity Exchange “Ukrainian Energy Exchange” show. The average electricity sale price was 1 223,41 UAH/MWh (ex VAT). The buyers of Energoatom’s electricity were 17 companies, which is the record number of bidders as compared to previous auctions involving Energoatom.

It became possible after April 30, when the NEURCU introduced a series of amendments to its own Ordinance №766 dated April 8, 2020 “On operation of electricity market participants under the quarantine and restricting measures associated with the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19)”, which improved the efficiency of electronic auctions for the sale of electric energy.

Energoatom is paying thanks to the NEURCU for timely amendments to the procedure regulating electricity procurement and sale by the SE “Guaranteed Buyer”, and acknowledges these to be the first step towards ensuring financial and economic stability in the electricity market. Energoatom also expects further steps towards stabilization of the balancing market.
